Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. They relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Casting agents found Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times Emma as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film was also one of the top-rated films during 2001. The opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film and the performance by three main young actors. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her outstanding performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of the Film.
